    Whilst the dispossession of Indigenous Palestinians pre-dates 1948, it is officially known the year of 'Al-Nakba', meaning 'The Catastrophe' in Arabic. Between 1947 and 1949, at least 750,000 Palestinians were expelled from their homes and made refugees, while colonial forces seized more than 78% of historic Palestine. Around 530 villages and towns were ethnically cleansed and destroyed, while approximately 15,000 Palestinians were killed in a series of atrocities, including more than 70 massacres. The Gaza Nakba, a genocide which began in October 2023, is an unimaginable disaster that has changed us all indelibly, forever. We yearn to see a free Palestine in our lifetime.
